Working with the community for a better Bay

LIB DEMS CONDEMN HOUSING NUMBERS HOWLER

9.43.27am BST (GMT +0100) Fri 26th Sep 2008

Speaking at the Cabinet meeting tonight on the Regional Spatial Strategy, Councillor Steve Darling will say:

"Any more than 10,000 homes for Torbay will ruin our community as we know it by over development.

"Sadly the incompetent Conservatives have commissioned a Consultant who has found the possibility of building 16,000 homes in Torbay. This is a public document, and when making a decision the Government Minister will be able to draw on this when making the recommendation.

"This is just another example of the Conservative administration failing to pay attention to detail and therefore poorly serving Torbay."
