LIB DEMS RAISE ANTI SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR WITH POLICE5.23.32pm BST (GMT +0100) Fri 30th May 2008 The Liberal Democrat Group held the latest of a series of meetings with Superintendent Singer from Devon and Cornwall Police last week (May 20th) and discussed a number of issues, including anti-social behaviour. Overall there was good news from the Police, with overall crime down by 11% although some areas such as domestic abuse were up albeit with few numbers altogether. The Deputy Leader of the Liberal Democrat Group Councillor Alan Faulkner said: "We have arranged to see Superintendent Singer on a regular basis to discuss issues facing Torbay. One of the Liberal Democrat Council Group's key themes is tackling anti social behaviour, so it is great that we can have a two-way dialogue with the police to help sort problems out. The Liberal Democrat Council Group will be meeting with the police on approximately a quarterly basis from now on. "If any local residents have any issues that they would like raised with the police then they should either contact their local Liberal Democrat Councillor or ring the Liberal Democrat office at the Town Hall on 01803 207071." Councillor Ian Doggett, who was Torbay Council's representative on the Police Authority prior to the local elections last year said: "The discussions are useful for both the Liberal Democrat Group and the police. As Councillors we can share problems and issues that are happening in our Wards that the police may not be aware of, and Superintendent Singer shares issues with us which we will be pursuing on the Council side.
